WATCH Russia takes down footage of Pussy Riot’s anti Putin punk prayer

Russian authorities have banned video footage of female punk rock band Pussy Riot’s performance in Moscow’s cathedral. The perfomance landed the three punk activisits in jail for performin an ‘anti-Putin’ punk prayer. They entered the cathedral in February to protest Vladimir Putin’s announcement he would be running for a third presidential mandate.

The three girls were arrested and two of them sent to a prison camp in Siberia where they are serving a two year sentence. Maria Alyokhina, 24, and Nadezhda Toloknnikova, 22, were found guilty of “hooliganism moitvated by religious hatred.” The third member, Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30, was acquitted of all charges because she was blocked before she could take her guitar from out of the case.

The video of the anti-Putin punk rock band performance in Moscow’s cathedral has been viewed more than 2 million times. It was uploaded to Youtube in February.
