A stripper who sustained serious injuries following a 15-foot plunge from the balcony of a strip club in Cleveland died on Wednesday a week after the accident. As Gawker reports, the young woman was performing for a client around 1 AM on January 2 when she lost her balance during a “jump/dance move” on a pole. Lauren Block fell over Christie’s Cabaret balcony rail and hit her head on the ground after a 15-foot fall.
Block, 22, suffered a head trauma that was fatal. She was taken to the MetroHelath Medical Center in Cleveland but never recovered from the injury. The girl’s family issued a statement following her passing in which they said her organs would be donated.
We would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support and prayers for Lauren. She has passed away but is an organ donor, and we hope this will enable her to save many lives and live on through others. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at MetroHealth. They worked tirelessly to do all they could to save her life. We ask that the media respect our privacy during this difficult time. We know that she’s in God’s hands. No criminal charges were filed, but OSHA said it would be investigating the incident.
