More than 300kg of meth and 252kg of heroin worth $50m have been seized by Australian police in Sydney. The haul worth $50m was hidden in 3,200 terracotta pots at Sydney’s Port Botany.
“We’re talking about a significant quantity of two separate types of substances which generally have different source countries,” Deputy Commissioner Andrew Colvin told reporters.
The haul coming from Thailand was found following a tip-off from US authorities. Police have arrested those involved in the illicit drug import but the investiagtion is ongoing and further arrests are possible.
