When their blind eight-year-old dog went missing during a heavy snow storm in Alaska, the Arbengeter family feared the worst. Abby spent more than a week at minus 40C in the Alaskan winter until she turned up safe at the home of a local vet. Abby who had gone blind over a year ago, went missing from the family’s property on 13 December. She spent ten days in the Alaskan winter until the Grapgenter family received a phone call from the local vet on December 23 saying that Abby was doing fine. The blind dog managed to reach the vet’s house thanks to a winter trail and made it home just in time for Christmas.
