Chelsea footballer Eden Hazard was sent off in last night’s Capital One Cup match against Swansea City for kicking a club’s ball boy. The Belgian player was red carded after he hit 17-year-old ball boy Charlie Morgan in the ribs. Hazard told Chelsea TV he was trying to kick the ball but then hit the young boy because he had put “his whole body on to the ball”.
Charlie Morgan, 17, is the son of Swansea City football club’s biggest shareholders Martin Morgan and his wife Luisa. The Morgans are one of Wales’ wealthiest families and took control of the club through a consortium in 2008. They own 22.5% of the club.
