A crowd of more than 30,000 people toasted to David Beckham as he walked off the pitch in his last match for the Los Angeles Galaxy. Beckham’s six-year run in the MLS ended with his side 3-1 win over the Houston Dinamo to retain the MLS Cup. The English midfielder also ended with a leagu- title his chapters at Manchester United and Real Madrid and he says he’s now ready to move on.
“We’re certainly going to miss him,” Irish forward and team mate Robbie Keane told the Washington Post. “But so happy we sent him off with a championship.”
The Los Angeles Galaxy came from behind to beat the Houston Dynamo who had taken the lead just before halftime thanks to Calen Carr. Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez scored the equaliser in the 60th minute and U.S. World Cup veteran Landon Donovan put his side in the lead on a penalty kick five minutes later. Keane netted another penaly kick during added time.
