A French mother accused of sending her son called Jihad to school with a T-shirt reading “I am a bomb” and “Born on September 11″ appeared in court on Wednesday.
Bouchra Bagour, 35, appeared in court in the southern city of Avignone on Wednesday to defend herself against the charges of “glorifying terrorism”. She told the court the T-Shirt was to celebrate her son’s third birthday who was born on September 11.
The T-Shirt was given to the young boy by Zeyad Bagour, Bouchra’s brother and a co-defendant in the case, reports France24. He told the court the T-Shirt was “tactless” but it wasn’t his intention to offend the memory of the victims died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States.
Bouchra and Zeyad could spend up to five years in prison and be fined 45,000 euros each, if found guilty. The ruling is expected on April 10.
