PRETORIA, South Africa - Nelson Mandela is still in intensive care four days after being admitted to hospital with a lung infection. Little is known about the real health condition of the 94-year-old but the last report stated that he was “in serious but stable condition”.
Mandela’s relatives, including his ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, have been visiting him at his bed side.
Meanwhile, South African president Jacob Zuma said in a televised interview that doctors are taking care of Mandela are doing a very good job. “We need him to be with us and I’m sure all the messages that have been pouring in to wish him a speedy recovery are highly welcome,” said Zuma. “And I’m sure knowing him as I do, he is a good fighter. He will be with us very soon.”
