Cloning humans could be possible in 50 years. Nobel Prize-winning scientist Sir John Gurdon says the technique could be possible once ethical problems over human cloning are overcome. Sir Gurdon explained on a BBC radio show that making a human clone would consist of making a copy of what already exists.
Sir Gurdon said: “I take the view that anything you can do to relieve suffering or improve human health will usually be widely accepted by the public – that is to say if cloning actually turned out to be solving some problems and was useful to people, I think it would be accepted.” He also added that the technique “would improve human health” but it will take time to “be widely accepted by the public.”
