LONDON – John Terry’s futere as England captain is on the line as the Football Association is preparing to make an announcement on the racist abuse charge he is faced with.
The issue has been brought to a head after a court decided Wednesday to delay Terry’s trial until July, after the European Championship. The Chelsea defender denies making racist comments to Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a a Premier League match in October.
The FA leadership has been considering whether Terry’s position is tenable amid widespread calls for him to be stripped of the captaincy for a second time.
