WASHINGTON – As Rep. Gabrielle Giffords walked down the aisle for Tuesday night’s State of The Union address, an applause gradually became cheers and “cheers built to a roar,” reports The Washington Post. Giffords was shot in the head a year ago in Tucson and recently said that she would resign from the House “to focus on her recovery from the near-fatal wound.” Prior to the State of The Union address President Barack Obama made his way through the crowd and stopped for a few moments with Giffords and greeted her with a big hug.
